During my time as a Public Education Intern at the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) I gained invaluable experience in science writing for the public facing site of the Society, Brainfacts.org. A portfolio of my work can be found here.
Additionally, as a 2016 Early Career Policy Ambassador (ECPA) I have written for Neur0nline, SfN’s members-only home for learning and discussion. One of my articles focuses on enabling and encouraging SfN members, with a focus on undergraduate student members, to become advocates for science. A more recent article focuses on how to initiate conversation with local policymakers.
More recently, as someone who has recently participated the admissions process for US PhD programs in Biology/Biomedical Sciences I worked with SfN and Neuronline to create a 3-part series on applying, interviewing, and ultimately selecting a graduate program.
